Cytiva expands contract lyophilisation capacity with new lab
Cytiva has announced the official opening of its new manufacturing laboratory to support its Lyo-Stable lyophilisation services for genomics and diagnostics assay stabilisation at its Centre of Excellence in Cardiff.
MediWales reports the new laboratory offers increased capacity, with an additional new freeze drier and a separate, dedicated humidity controlled kitting area. With three dedicated freeze driers, Cytiva can offer a wide range of shelf capacities to support pilot scale runs and meet the most demanding forecasts of our global customers.
The new “Lyo-Lab”, which has taken three months to complete, will support the growing number of lyophilisation projects being undertaken and, in collaboration with a R&D laboratory, enables Cytiva to offer complete assay development, validation and manufacturing services.
Matthew Davies, Cytiva’s Custom Services Leader, said “The new laboratory shows Cytiva’s ongoing commitment to the continued success of custom services and the Lyo-Stable service in particular. We can offer a scalable manufacturing solution whether you’re a new start-up or a global supplier of stabilized molecular diagnostic kits.”
Cytiva’s customised solutions includes contract manufacturing, custom biology, custom conjugation of enzymes, antibodies and custom ligands and Lyo-Stable stabilisation technology, as well as customisation of the company’s standard products to meet customer specifications.
Cytiva was previously GE Healthcare.
