Chinese students learn about 3D printing in Swansea
World leading 3D design and printing technology used in facial reconstructions has been shown to aspiring Chinese medics.
Abetawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board reports the twenty five students enjoyed a tour of the Maxillofacial Laboratory at Morriston Hospital in Swansea as part of a visit to the city’s university. They have come from universities in south west China, including Chongqing Medical University and Southwest Medical University. All of the students have the potential to come and study in the UK and, due to their good performance, may qualify for scholarships for overseas study.
This is the second year the laboratory has hosted this event, which also includes lectures.
Lawrence Dovgalski, senior maxillofacial prosthetist, said “The students particularly enjoyed the 3D printing and 3D medical designing, it’s not something they see every day!”
