Deal to bring cost saving technology to hospitals
Talbot Green-based Hospital Innovations, a supplier of specialist products for use in orthopaedic, surgical and corrective procedures, has signed the exclusive deal with US company Integrated Endoscopy.
MediWales reports the disposable, single use arthroscopes replace the existing reusable examining tools used during keyhole surgery which are often poorer vision quality and can increase the risk of infection if not sterilised correctly. Hospitals can also be restricted by the number of arthroscopes they have, limiting the number of operations that can be carried out.
The specific arthroscope marketplace is worth £150m, and so far Hospital Innovations has received a 100% positive reaction from surgeons.
Hospital Innovations’ Managing Director, Phil Davies, said “Our mission is to source ground-breaking products that can seriously benefit the medical sector here in the UK and bring them to market first. The single use rigid arthroscopes not only provide massive cost and time savings to hospitals but will also increase patient safety as each product comes in its own sterile packaging. With 100% optical quality every time, this really could transform the way surgery is carried out in Britain.”
Hospital Innovations has recently expanded into a new purpose-built office and distribution centre, allowing them to supply a wider range of products and greatly increase the savings that a hospital can achieve when working with an efficient streamlined company.
