HEOR to take on new staff in expansion
Healthcare economics consultancy HEOR is to take on ten new staff after moving to a new office at Cardiff Gate.
Insider Media reports the company specialises in health economic and statistical analysis and has agreed a lease to occupy a 6,443 sq ft space at Copse Walk, Cardiff Gate Business Park. The site, marketed by joint real estate advisers Cooke & Arkwright and Colliers International on behalf of the landlord XLB Property, also has two other available office suites to let and a 4,500 sq ft standalone building.
As a result of the expansion, HEOR will be recruiting ten new employees within technical positions to include medical writers, economists, statisticians, computer scientists, mathematicians and operational research analysts. With this additional space, HEOR will be able to double its employee capacity from thirty people to over sixty. In addition, the consultancy will be creating a client area to hold advisory board and client meetings, as well as health economics workshops.
Phil McEwan, managing director of HEOR, said “Having been founded in 2011, we have now developed strong relationships with our pharmaceutical clients. The challenges faced by healthcare systems globally to deliver cost-effective interventions continues to drive the requirement for health economic analyses, which has led to our growth and requirement for additional office space to house our growing team of researchers. We have recruited over 20 new staff in the last three years, a mix of graduates, post-graduate and post-doctorates from life-sciences and mathematics/statistics or computer science backgrounds. We have five researchers joining us shortly, and we’re looking forward to being in position to recruit another 10 positions within the next few months.”
James Preece from Colliers International, said “The landlord has been proactively upgrading Copse Walk to provide the specification of office space that occupiers demand. This approach has seen them let over 11,500 sq ft since taking ownership.”
Rhys Price, surveyor at Cooke & Arkwright, said “We are pleased to welcome HEOR to Copse walk, which builds on the letting of the whole of Unit C to CCS Mclays. The remaining offices provide fantastic value for money and offer an excellent specification to include air conditioning, LED lighting and parking facilities. Being located just off junction 30 of the M4 motorway, the business park offers the ideal location for businesses needing to be in close proximity to the M4.”
